Spouse Open Work Permit Confusion

Hi everyone,


I am currently in canada as an undergraduate student pursuing bachelors in CS. I was about to get married to my fiancée in June this year and he was about to apply for SOWP afterwards. However, the recent policy has completely left us disheartened.

Does this policy implies to current study permit holders too?
Can we still go for what we decided?
Or
Can he apply for visit visa on my basis? What are other options available?

The Policy has not been implemented as of this date, if you have plans to file your SOWP application please do so swiftly before the changes takes place, rest you will have to wait for SOWP after you receive your PGWP.
