Hello everyone,
I got my PR in mid 2019 and I currently live in the US. I'm thinking of moving to Canada some time next year to maintain my status (2 out of 5 years).
I recently got married and I wanted to know the best way to take my spouse with me.
My questions are:
1. PR holders are not eligible to sponser PR to their spouses from outside of Canada. So, Is dual-intent the best way to take my spouse along with me?
2. Inland sponsorship - Is having a job mandatory at the time of application? I have enough savings to show CIC that I can take care both of us for a while.
3. Once an inland application is filed - can my spouse stay in Canada until we get a final decision on the application? (Example: More than 6 months).
4. Any better options to take my spouse with me / any other things I should know about?
PS: We are not citizens of a visa-exempt country and certainly don't want to lie about our intentions to apply for a PR.
Thank you all!
