Spouse name on Passport for OPW?

Hello,

My wife is an International student in Canada and I am currently working in India. I am planning to apply for a Spouse-Open work permit to join her in Canada. I specifically wanted to know, if there is a need for both of us to update our passports with Spouse name added as we haven't changed our names after marriage and we have a Marriage certificate that serves as a proof for our marriage.

PS: I have already updated my passport and added her name under Spouse, but is it necessary for her to do it too?

And what if I just deposited it in my account, will that be a problem?
