Spouse landing before Sponsor (me)

Hello everyone. I know this topic has been raised here a few years ago, but since CIC changes are so frequent, I decided to ask it once again. Who has personal experience with his/her spouse landing in Canada while the Sponsor is away? Unfortunately, there are questions like this one that are not explained at CIC official website.

Who has personal experience with his/her spouse landing in Canada while the Sponsor is away? Unfortunately, there are questions like this one that are not explained at CIC official website.

I have done this. It was not a problem. CBSA asked where my sponsor was and I said "at home, looking after the dog". No further questions.

If this an inland sponsorship, that may be an issue. It is expected that the sponsor attend the landing appointment with you. If the sponsor is not there, they may tell you to reschedule your landing appointment again. They want to sponsor to show up to ensure three things. 1. That they can confirm that the sponsor is alive. 2. Live in same address listed in application and 3. Sponsor want to continue with sponsorship.

My wife also "landed", while I was in the air (different flight arriving 10-12 hours later) . . . outland application. Nary any mention of my whereabouts during her two sentence conversation with the officer.

If this is a case of outland PR sponsorship, then the sponsor is not required to be at the landing with you. It won't be an issue.
