Hey,

I was hoping you might be able to offer me some advice.

My wife and I have applied for an outland PR application which has shown me as approved to sponsor her and files have been transferred to the Paris office.
we applied in January however her PGWP status expires in just a couple of days. We did an outland on the advice of our lawyer indicating the faster processing time.

Now though, we've run into an issue. Shes applied for a visitor visa as an extension for her to stay with me in Canada, however its been a couple of weeks and nothing from the CIC.

Any idea if this will get approved? or what is a good option for us? I'm happy to hear suggestions and comments. Also shes applied under Spanish passport. So I'm not sure if this being a visa exempt country will help the process?

Thanks!!

Hi

There is no issue. It will be months before she hears back on the visitor extension . Until then, she will have Implied Status. Provided you showed proof of finances to support the extended stay, there should be no.problem with the extension.

Excellent to hear that. Very much appreciate your response. Thank you!

Hey,

So my wife noticed today on her MyCIC page that the visitor visa is showing "Approved" status, however, when you go into the application it shows it is still open. Any ideas what this is?

Thanks!

Re: Spouse in Canada Visitor VISA during PR app. - Updated

Just bumping up, to see if anyone has any ideas?

It now says: Closed, Approved. Though there is no document indicating the details... which I find odd.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

The Visitor Record will arrive in the mail.

Ahh,

So it's not like the work and study permits which they show the document online indicating the status, i.e. how long it is valid for and the conditions?

That's alright then, I assume this should only be a few weeks to mail it to a Toronto address?

Thanks!
