Hey all - my wife has her COPR! She is travelling in about two days.

I (the sponsor) moved into our new, permanent address in Canada in the same province Montreal Quebec (where she will land). The address has changed after the PR approval i.e after getting the COPR.

In this case is there a possibility to inform the address change at the time of immigration on the airport?
Or should I be updating IRCC via a webform?

It totally didn’t occur to me that it might be necessary to do that (sponsor, not applicant). I’ve seen some threads saying it doesn’t matter, but I want to confirm. I know I am asking this question at the very last moment but if there is no possibility then I can also keep going on with the address that I have it on my file.

Just so that everyone knows our PR application was: Outland Online Spousal Sponsorship (PA located in India)

Thanks in advance for all you answers & help with the clarification.

I don't see how it matters. When she lands, she will simply give your new address for the mailing of the PR card. That's all she needs to do.

But wouldn't it be mandatory to inform IRCC about this change? Or just informing directly at the time of immigration will work?

No. I travelled to Jamaica in February to escort my wife to Canada. When we arrived at Toronto immigration ask her for her mailing address for the PR card. You can update the address at that time.

Thanks a lot that answers the question. Also for the PR card status updates are they online or how do we track that?

Normally yes but at this point it is pointless and you are remaining in the same city and province and in Canada so not as big of a deal especially if you only recently moved. Giving your current address when applying for the PR card should be fine.
