my spouse has done B,A Arts (graduation)from guru nanak dev university)Amritsar.Pinjab(India)
but it is not from any college .it was correspondance
does that give 4 points
it is equal to the 3 year degree course as all colleges are affiliated to this university only

get a certificate from university that this education is equivalent and at par with regular study of same duration and equally well for getting admission in further PG courses. i think this would serve your purpose.

same is my case. my wife has completed her final year privately. and while applying as FSW, i didnot claim any points for her education. though IO may award some points. but i think it's better to play safe.

My Wife did backelor's degree and masters from same university, Bacjelor's regular in College, and Masters through some recognised Institute of same university. Now as We have all documents in once place I see no difference in Degree certificate and marksheets except missing photo on masters marksheets.

Are these equivalent, as i dind'r get any document from universiry saying masters is equivalent to regular study. also i mentioed the name of same institution for masters degree in her educational background.

is this correct?

If the last degree as regular (no matter if previous education done as private) then you may get points otherwise no points. as per research on forum.

A distance learning credential is eligible for points as long as it meets the definition of a credential
as outlined in R73. If the credential is not described in terms of number of years duration (i.e.,
three-year bachelor’s degree), officers should apply the definition of full-time equivalent study and
knowledge that the visa office has acquired on local education institutions and credentials.

what is private? In the US, private just means that the state government doesn't own the school. I think when you say private, it means something else. Can you explain? is it the same as correspondence university.

Mohit,

The GNDU corresp Degree (BA or MA) are considered as 'same as' Regular Degree. U'll thus, get the same points, as if she had been attending daily college.

There r plenty of guys around who have done Degrees form Indian Univs and are also the PA. So relax on that front. It's Ok. I have done my MBA-HRM from IGNOU & got full points.

If its recognized by the government, it is valid. Good luck.

and this University is known world wide
but i went to some cunsultant today he said we will not get any point
so i am totally confused
i have got my AOR and i have 120 days now this situation i am totally down
