outland application, Canadian citizen sponsoring American husband. Concerned since we have heard nothing since Oct 26 but I guess with visa exempt applicants they may just mail COPR documents instead of PPR. Fingers crossed we know soon.

Procedures have been changed at IRCC according to staff availability, covid lockdown issues and shifting of ministerial priorities / demand for other programs.

I finally got my pre arrival letter. Did anyone else get there’s? I guess that means I’ll be getting my DM soon?

Can't resist the tempt to order GCM Notes and surprise, I find out that everything is set, just nothing mailed to me....

To recap, here is the timeline:

Application rec’d: Feb 13, 2020
AOR1: March 13
SA: March 13
Bio req: March 13
Bio done: March 25
Medical req: Sept 18
Medical passed: Oct 7
AOR 2/Ghost Update: Oct 20
Transferred to CPC Ottawa: Oct 20
Pre-Arrival Letter: Oct 25
Police Clearance Cert.: Nov 26
ECAS DM: Dec 31, 2020
PPR: N/A (Visa exempted for Hong Kong citizens)
COPR: Issued on 31 Dec 2020. I read GCMS notes and there is a COPR document number.

I asked my lawyer if that's the issuance of COPR and he confirmed yes, stating that everything is done except the very last
step. He is now enquiring them for me but I don't know how long it will take.

I think you should have got a PPR.

Even for visa-exempt passport holders, they would need to ask for current photographs. And they also always ask for at least photocopy or scan of passport, because they need to make sure they are issuing the COPR with current passport details.

So as far as I'm aware, there is always a PPR even in cases where most of the 'copr/visa' process can be done electronically.

But perhaps I've missed something about your process and what's been done. Mistakes do happen at IRCC too, of course.
