Hi,
I have a quick questions in regards to my upcoming spouse application. My husband (Egyptian citizen) applied for a Temp. Res. Visa to go visit Canada (two times in 2012) and he got refused both times (it's very hard for an Egyptian to get approved to visit).
On Form 5669, it asks if he has been denied a visa, so of course he has to put yes and as to why he was declined. Does this make a difference in the application?? Could he still get approved?? I'm just wondering why they ask this (since they have it in their files)??

It will not prevent him from being approved, but he MUST answer truthfully.

NOT being truthful could be devastating for his application.

The only difference it could possibly make in a spousal sponsorship case is the resulting misrepresentation determination from not declaring them.. So just do what you're doing and check off yes and include a brief description of what he applied for and when in the space below and everything will be fine.

Just answer the question truthfully - that's all you have to do. His past refusals won't create issues for his PR application as long as he's truthful.

Answering "no" is misrepresentation and will get him a 5 year ban from Canada.
