Spouse and Refugee Visa

Dear All,

Please help me in the following case. I have two questions:

1. My fiancée is in Canada under a Refugee Visa. He got his PR card and is currently working in a bank. It’s been 7 months for him there. The refugee visa stats that he cannot visit his home country for a minimum of 3 years. We have plans to get married. How shall we go about it?

2. My second question is, I have applied for immigration in Canada, currently waiting for ITA. Is it okay if I mention in my LOE that one of the main reasons for me to go there is to settle down with my fiancé?

Thankyou

1. He cannot return to his home country until after he has Canadian citizenship. You will need to get married in a different country that you can both reach and legally marry in.
2. No point. This is completely irrelevant to the process. Leave this detail out - LOEs are for mentioning things you need to explain that are important to your application. This isn't one of them.

Thank you for replying Scylla :)

So what should l do now?

1. wait for the immigration to come through, go there and then get married?

2. Can I get married while my application is in process? i.e. will that affect my case positively or negatively?

Thanks once again

If you have enough points to receive ITA - I would go ahead with that process.

Your choice whether you get married or not. It won't affect the process either way.
