Dear forum members,
I am new to the forum and would like your assistance/feedback regarding my query on spouse and parents sponsorship.

I am a Canadian PR and about to get married with a Pakistani resident girl. Since I am the only son of my parents I would like my parents to move in the longer run to Canada with me. My queries are as follows:
How can I apply to sponsor my spouse after marriage to accompany and live with me in Canada. Can she join me immediately. How long does the process takes.
How can I arrange for my parents to stay with me in about one year's time?

Thanks in advance for your response and valuable time.

Regards
Canadian.

Once you are married, you can sponsor your spouse to Canada. It takes about 50 days now to process the sponsor's application, and then a further 26 months to process the applicant's application in Islamabad. You can get a faster processing time than this by submitting a very good application with a lot of proof your relationship is genuine. If the visa officer decides they don't need to interview the applicant, this will shorten the wait time.

Your parents can apply for a super visa. Actually sponsoring parents takes years, and is suspended right now anyway.

For your parents - they should apply for a supervisa. It is for visiting, not permanent residence. (That program is currently closed right now. In the past, it's taken years to sponsor, so supervisa is also faster for temporary uniting.) Depending your province, if one of your parents can get a job in your province, you may have the ability to help sponsor them at provincial level but this only applies in certain cases and places.

Supervisa requires your parents to supple their own health insurance. You must also meet income requirements.

The chances of having your wife wait out the PR process with you in Canada is slim. She would need a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV). The chances of her getting one with a spouse in Canada is very low. You can try, but please don't get your hopes up.

If she is awarded the TRV, apply Inland. Have the paperwork ready and apply as soon as you can. Note - she shouldn't leave Canada for any reason during processing, so make sure her affairs are in order before leaving Pakistan. If she's denied re-entry, which is likely, her application would be abandoned and you'd have to start over.

For Outland sponsorship - probably what you will have to do - it takes 26 months through Islambad. There is no way to speed it up unfortunately. However, you're free to visit her (for up to a month, I believe) during the process even though you must reside in Canada to sponsor her.
