Hi Everyone,

I have read the previous threads and it's hard for me to decide which way should i go.
My spouse lives in Pakistan though he will be leaving for Dubai in couple of days for work etc.
We have already filed an application for his PR which is taking almost a year from what i have learned. My main concern is should i apply for his visit visa to Canada in the mean while or should i opt for his open work permit visa.
It's hard for me to go back again due to my job but at the same time we want to see and live with each other as fast as it possibly could be.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

He does not qualify for an open work permit. A visitor visa is the only option.

He would only qualify for an open work permit if he was physically in Canada and you had applied to sponsor him for PR using the inland application route.

He can certainly apply for OWP. Do not apply visit visa its very hard to get when you have already applied for PR. I know many of my friends who had got their spouses on OWP.
Create a good explanation letter and telling them why you need your spouse to be with you and how can you fund him.

The OP is a PR. Her husband cannot apply for an OWP by the outland PR process
