Hello fellow members in the house....
please does any heard or know about spousal visa bcos uk does it and I think USA too but I have not read about it here in this thread so any idea..
thanks

What do you mean by spousal visa? Are you asking about a temproary visa? Or are you asking about permanent status? You're going to have to be more specific.

My friend,
spousal visa is the type of visa u get after u marry to visit ur spouse then u later apply for right of abode or citizenship

I'm still confused. Your signature says you've already applied for PR through spousal sponsorship.

Anyway - information is here:

You are not entitled to any sort of visiting visa while permanent residency is processing. You can try to come as a visitor until you get your PR.

No Canada doesn't have it. Either you come in as permanent resident sponsored by your spouse or you can apply for the temporary visa. Actually being married is harder to get TRV since you have to prove that you will return to your home country after your stay.

And it looks like you have already applied for permanent residency and you are from Nigeria so your chances are slim to none. Unless of course she is uber rich 8)

I am not sure but are you asking a kind of fiance visa?

I have heard that some countries have it but haven't heard that Canada has it.

omoo thank you.
you are have idea of what am asking.
yes I did applied for PR already and I only put up the topic for discussion so if anyone heard of it, throw more light so we all could understand....

Your spouse can apply for a visitor visa. Whether that visitor visa is approved is an entirely different matter. CIC does often refuse them because they guess the spouse isn't a genuine tourist and has plans to remain in Canada long term.

SeulDansMonBocal please can throw more light to your submission... So bcos am a Nigerian makes my chances slim to none. must I marry a rich woman before immigrating to Canada?

I highly doubt that's what that person meant. Any person from a visa-requiring country who is in the process of applying for PR is going to have a hard time applying for a TRV. A TRV is not a means of immigration. It is a visa allowing a person from a visa-requiring country to visit Canada. You can still apply for Permanent Residence to immigrate. It's just that visiting while your application processes would likely be difficult.

Hi Decoy24601,
Thank you, I really not saying I want TRV but I only raise the topic for our discussion I have my PR application in already but just asking if anyone heard of it before...

Canada has no dependent visa. The only option would be a TRV.

Of course if your wife can secure a full time job offer and LMIA - then a work permit would be another option. A study permit would be an option if she is admitted into a full time program and can show sufficient funds to cover living expenses and fees.
