Hello
I was a student in 2018 and then I had some financial issues and couldn’t stay full time student so when I needed to extend my student permit I was refused and was told to leave the country withing 30 days. I still have an Canadian visit visa that expires in 2027 but I got this visit visa when I had a student visa before, right now Iam thinking to go to Canada and I booked a ticket to see my girlfriend and Iam planning to marry her in Canada and submit an inland spousal sponsorship, will the visa officer on arrival deny me access.

Sorry for what happened to you. Since they told you to leave within 30 days, it should already be in the system even if you enter on a visitor visa. Maybe you can plan to visit a few other countries first, and then go to Canada later for the Christmas holidays or your friend’s graduation.

When you travel, try not to carry your educational certificates. Keep it simple with only hand luggage and make sure you have a return ticket. These things can help the immigration officer feel confident that you are genuinely visiting and will return to your home country. Strengthening your home ties will also help increase your chances of being allowed entry into Canada.

Also, you should not tell the immigration officer that you are going to Canada to marry your girlfriend, because you are entering on a visitor visa and must show that you will return home. You can also file your taxes in India and use that as proof of strong home ties.

I am not an official advisor, and this is my personal point of view only.

Thank you for your reply. However I should mention that the purpose of visit is me visiting my girlfriend?

If you tell to the CBSA officer that you are planning to marry your gf, you might have your entry into Canada deny. Visitor visa does not give you the right to plan for a stay in Canada.

Would also suggest confirming your TRV is still valid and was not cancelled electronically.
