You will be responsible for her financially for many years and with no credit history you are likely to have to co-sign for your spouse on numerous application. Stress from a big move may also trigger addictive behaviour. would make sure your spouse has a decent period without gambling after leaving the treatment program and has a support system before moving. Psychologists are usually not covered by provincial health care. Do you have extended health benefits? Your partner could access the extended health benefits once they qualify for provincial health care which could be up to 3 months. Usually psychologists are covered under extended health benefits although you may not get reimbursed for the full costs. Not sure how long you have been married or how long you dated before marriage but if you have not been together for very long please make sure you protect yourself and your financial future. You should protect your finances no matter what but if you have only spent a limited time together I would be even more cautious.
