Spousal sponsorship

I got married to my high school sweetheart who is a permanent resident in Canada this year before moving to United States from Africa for my Masters program.We want to submit application for sponsorship to Canada. Do I have to go back to Africa to submit the application at their embassy? Or Can I do that in the states? If I can do it in the states how do we go about it?

Just fill out the application and get all the documents and send them in
