Hi there,

I will like to get some advice regarding my status situation in Canada, right now I'm here under a work permit that expires on march 2015, I'm not working right now because the hotel that I was working for close down, I will like to apply for my Permanent Residency with my Spouse, he is Canadian citizen by Birth and I'm not sure if I should do it Out land or in land.

I know that applying Out land takes less time for First Stage (55 days) so am I going to get my open work permit after this? is it going to be enough time one month and a half for me staying out of Canada? shut I get a Tourist Visa just in case to come back?

I will appreciate some advice, Thank you

You cannot get an OWP when you apply outland.

Where can I find out more about it? I heard that as soon as you submit an Application for an OWP with your PR application, you shut be able to get it.

Thank you in advance :)

Thats right, you better think about outland application, its way faster. You can stay in Canada while u process outland application, u just need to make sure about your legal status (even visitor visa). You can get OWP after passing stage 1 in inland application and it takes long time.

Someone was mistaken. As mentioned already, you are only eligible for OWP with an Inland application...and you definitely don't get it as soon as you submit your Inland application! You have to get AIP before they issue your OWP (which takes about 11 months, as of today).

Read the very first thread in this forum to get a good idea of how things work.

Good luck!
