Good Day

I just got married last December 7, 2013, my wife is working in Canada for the past 6 yrs. She went back to Canada last January 8, yesterday we found out that shes pregnant already. I was just wondering, is there any possible way that i can go to Canada before her delivery. Our documents is schedule to be submit last week of March 2014. According to my research the processing time is about 13-14 months. What should we do to speed it up, or is there an exception to the rule regarding this matter.

Thanks

There's no way to speed up the process. If it were, we would all try to use it, don't you think? :D :D

You don't need PR to come to Canada. Would you be able to just get a visitor's visa or something else and visit for a few months during the delivery? You could also get a visitor's visa just before applying, and apply inland and after stage 1 you'll have implied status and can stay until it's finished.

Hi good day to all. Im here in Philippines and I need your advice on something. My husband sponsored me, a Canadian citizen, and has received approval of his sponsorship. Now we are waiting from Canada Embassy in Manila any update on our application for my visa. The mailing address and contact informations used is that my husband's in Canada where we will hopefully soon receive letters and updates from the Canada Embassy in Manila. My question is, will it be a good idea to change the mailing address and contact informations that the Embassy will send updates and all from my huband's to my addresss here in Philippines instead so I'll know and received them straight from CEM? My husband and I have second thoughts about this move we are planning but then I've more time to check on the visa matter than my husband who is busy working everyday. I hope someone here will help enlighten me on this concern we have. Thank you in advance. God bless us all.

Hi thegoodwife98,

Did your husband provide an email address on your application? If so, all correspondences will be coursed through email rather than by mail.

On your husband's SA (Sponsorship Approval Letter) you should see there a UCI Number and and Application No. The UCI Number is for the Sponsor, while the Application Number is for you, the sponsored person. You can use these numbers to check you eCAS status online here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp?s=1. Once your file has been transferred to the Manila VO, all requests/correspondences (Passport Requests, Decision Made: Visa Releasing) will be coursed through you, the sponsored person.

I guess there is no need to change the address not unless your husband did not provide an email address on your application.

If you have other questions you can always swing by the Manila Thread here. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/spouse-family-class-timeline-manila-visa-office-philippines-t40680.0.html

When did you submit your application by the way?

Hello there dollinexile,

Peace and thank you for responding.
Yes my husband did provide his email address on the application. And he received SA through email, only. We check the status of our application regularly but all it says there is the date they received our application that is August 8, 2013.

We are planning to change all the contacts we've provided in our application but only if I'm 100% sure it will work best and I get the updates fast first hand.

Thank you for the links. God bless!

Hi thegoodwife98,

It looks like you're almost halfway through the 14 month application process. Next step would be the Passport Request (If no Interview was requested). Manila VO will contact YOU directly for this and NOT your husband since YOU are the who will submit this document and not your husband. So, I guess, there's no need to change it. :)
