Hello everyone,

I really hope that all of you can shed a light in my constant confusion during the process my husband (Mr Canadian) and myself (Mrs UK) are having while reading through all the process.

We have known each other for close to 9 years and have been married for 1 year and 3 months! :o We got married in London, Ontario and I have spent a year there (with an accepted extension) and have been there several times during our relationship together, now we are planning our forever in Canada (because it is gorgeous) OK! I'll cut to the question...

The part that I am flabbergasted about reads as:

"The information you provide in your application about your family members and marital status must be true. You must tell CIC of any change in your case. (I understand that)
You must include all of your family members on the application. (okidoki) The people you sponsor must also tell us about each of their close family members. (Ok sure!)
If you are outside Canada: The people you sponsor must also tell us about each of their close family members. These family members must have a security and criminality check and a medical exam. If they do not, the sponsored person will not be able to sponsor them in the future"
This last part! ^^^^ I mean? what? :o

Do every single member of my family (that I am closed to) HAVE to HAVE those checks... even if they ARE NOT moving to Canada, nor have the desire too?

We are applying for me to move and finally start having a life together, and have a family. I really don't understand that statement... If someone could please verify, it would be absolutely marvelous! as contacting the High Commission in London was useless as "we are not allowed to make queries in person nor via the phone" and other people that could help only dealt with Canadians moving to the UK, and kept transferring me to a paid adviser... for just one small question :(

Have a lovely day and I am sorry to have bothered you all!

Only dependents. So that would be your husband's children under 19 years of age if he has any.

Sorry - your children. Got confused about who was doing the sponsoring.

Thank you Scylla :)

I am sure i am not alone when I say, all the reading and understanding the application can make me feel quite dumb at times. I was just really worried due to costs and really not understanding why they would need too.

We have no children, yet! So, no need to worry on that part.

Thanks again and have a wonderful day.
