Hi all,

I see that spousal sponsorships need to go through online but the immigration website says that they will submit paper applications in certain circumstances. Does anyone have experience with this/know where the instructions are for submitting a paper-based application? There are a lot of photos and documentations I've printed out and prefer to submit it by paper because online there are size restrictions.

You need to request accommodations if you don't want to apply online. Up to IRCC if they accept your request or not.

Thanks for clarifying! Is there any reason why the request wouldn't be accepted? Are there any benefits to applying applying in person? I see from the checklist that we are to provide a maximum of 20 photos. Would you be penalized for providing more as safe measure?

What does maximum of 20 mean? 20 or more than 20?

It will be up to IRCC if they allow you to submit a paper application. I can't answer that question. I expect applications that are not submitted online may be processed more slowly. Just be prepared for that. IMO not submitting online is a poor decision but your choice obviously.

I don't know what you mean by "applying in person". You cannot go to the IRCC offices an apply in person.

Only provide 20 photos. Do not provide more.

IRCC never allow sponsorship application "in person". If they request in-person interview, then that's the time when you will meet a case officer.

Do you provide more than 20 photos. If IRCC wants more proof, they can request it.
