I just recently received my ECOPR and am still waiting for my PR Card to be delivered. I plan on getting married in a couple of months after receiving my PR card. My would-be husband is an overseas applicant. We have been in a relationship for only six months, but this is 100% legit. It is family family-arranged marriage. Considering our current financial stage, we are planning to do a court marriage in India and apply for Spousal sponsorship right after legal marriage. We will do it big family event after 6 months. How will this impact my application? What extra documents should I be attaching to get it passed successfully? Is it advisable to take an IRCC consultant's help for filing, or can I do it by myself? I don't have enough money to pay to consultant, but also considering the current rejection rate, I don't want to take a risk on a spouse application.

Also, is it advisable to file his application right after the court marriage, considering I am a recent PR, or are this no issues? Thank you in advance.

Since it's a family arranged marriage, wait until all of the marriage and celebration formalities are completed, including the big family event, before submitting the sponsorship application.

You don't chose between the two if you are applying outland. You either apply inland or outland.

Hi op. Did you eventually do court marriage and apply for spousal sponsorship before actual wedding ceremony ? Did they ask for any additional proof of wedding

In my case I am planning to apply after engagement and court marriage

You don't chose between the two if you are applying outland. You either apply inland or outland.
To be clear: 'inland' corresponds to 'spousal or common-law partner living in Canada' class, 'outland' is 'family class.' Outland is the only option available for those whose spouse's or outside Canada.

Only clarifying that inland/outland are commonly referred to but they're not the terminology used on the forms.

Hello, I can confirm that it is acceptable to apply for spousal sponsorship even after a super-intimate court marriage. I have done the same and have an application in progress (refer signature). We plan to do a bigger, more traditional wedding celebration later on, if we feel like. But for now, yes, it is alright to apply for spousal sponsorship as long as you can provide the exhaustive list of documents and information to IRCC.
