Spousal sponsor ship Application status cancelled!!!

Hello
I have applied for my husband to sponsor him and he is outside canada
I applied on March 16 2018
I got the application number and uci number on end of April
I linked the application to cic online account the. On may 1 2018 the send request for schedule A form and police certificate and on may 2 2018 they send request for medical. We submit all require above on may 20 2018 .
Then on December 13 2018 I received an update that application status is cancelled, and there is no message for details .
Please advice is that normal / usual thing ? All that time waiting almost 9 months of waiting the. Cancelled. please help

application status is cancelled......IRCC usually send a procedural letter before refusing applications.......and when they refuse application, they will send you a letter to explain reason why your application refused.......did you receive any messages.....check your application status

Then on December 13 2018 I received an update that application status is cancelled

I received an email that I have update of my application. As i have cic account to I signed in the. I found application status cancelled. And no new messages.

Ask the sponsor to call the IRCC Call Centre (1-888-242-2100), from within Canada only, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm local time

the sponsor is outside Canada, you need to provide convincing proof that you will return to Canada after PR visa issued to the PA and only Canadian citizens can sponsor from abroad and you must submit any additional requested documents before any deadline.

IRCC cannot cancel your application without sending you a reason......or a procedural letter before refusal.......there is more to this
