spousal sponsor application

from what i can see we have to submit ALL papers at the same time, however my Canadian wife believes she is supposed to submit her application to sponsor first to see if she is approved before going any further.

While it makes sense to me I think she is mistaken!

you are correct, she is mistaken.

BOTH applications get sent to Mississauga in the same package. CIC will check for completeness of both applications and process the sponsor's application. Once approved, the applicant's application will be internally transferred to the appropriate visa office. If both applications are not submitted together, the package will be returned as incomplete.
