Spousal Spnsorship - Philippines: Timeline Share

Hi Everyone!

I was wondering if any of you could share the processing timeline involved when you sponsored your spouse from the Philippines. I currently helped a friend sponsor his wife from the Philippines.

1) CIC received application on March 11, 2016
2) Letter received confirming eligibility as a sponsor & application sent to Manila on April 15, 2016

How long can I expect it will take the Manila office to process the application?

If it's a straight-forward application with no red flags, it's possible they could be done in 8 1/2 months. There NO guarantee they will achieve the same timeline however.

Is the sponsor a Canadian citizen, or a PR?
