Hi Members,
I am currently on Visitor visa (First extension) in Canada. I have applied for spousal PR on 2nd August 2019.
My first visitor extension is expiring on 9th of Sept 2019. I haven't received my file number yet.
Under these circumstances, as my spousal PR is in process do I have to apply for my second visitor visa extension ? OR it is fine not applying for second extension ?

Please guide me on same.
Thanks

You should apply as AOR can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks. If you applied for OWP at the same time as PR, you usually get implied status, but as you haven't received AOR yet there is a chance your application could be returned for being incomplete and then you will fall out of status. In case that happens, you will have to apply for restoration of status. Easier to just apply for an extension.

Yes I have applied for OWP at the same time as PR. So am I currently under implied status ?
Do I still need to apply for second visitor visa extension ?

As I said above, your whole application along with OWP can still be returned for being incomplete as you have not received AOR yet and if that happens you will be out of status. Your gamble.
