My wife is a Canadian citizen and had an attorney in Canada work on our spousal PR filing. I am in Nepal, and we have had our application worked on through Canada. We already have a child together who was born in Canada. We completed biometrics and medical last year, but IRCC requested some additional papers such as marriage evidence, photos, and relationship history—although all of these were initially provided at the time of application.

Not normal, unless it's held up in security screening or there's some serious doubt about the relationship.

Did you and your spouse live together for any length of time? Was this an arranged marriage?

How long since you applied? Closer to 1 year wouldn’t be unusual especially given ADR but closer to 2 years is another story.
