Hi ladies and gents, hoping for a bit of advise.

I got my PR (spousal family class) in May, however about 2 weeks ago my girlfriend and I split up (OK, she dumped me) and I've subsequently moved back to England with my tail thoroughly between my legs. I didn't have a good enough job or enough mates in Toronto to justify moving into a crappy studio in the arse crack of the city on the money I was on, and frankly I was pretty devastated.

When I was issued my PR it was conditional on us living together for 2 years from the date of my PR being issued (May 2015). My questions are basically:

- how well is this 2 years tracked by the CIC when it comes to the end of it and they would be looking at my regular PR? I imagine if I re-entered in May the border agent would be asking why I was gone for a 6 month period etc.
- if I want to be honest with the CIC about the relationship breakdown etc should I just be letting this 2 years expire, or is it in any way my interest to contact them now? Basically, would I be penalised for any future border entries even as a tourist for not informing them?

Reason I'm asking is that I don't know if I really fancy living in England after Toronto was awesome, and also that I have $2000 of Air Canada credits to use before August 2016 which cannot be transfered or refunded, so don't want to rock up at a border then to be refused entry.

It all comes to the question if she has reported breakdown of relationship to CIC. If she did, then it may appear on your file and you might be stopped by CBSA on your next entry to Canada and your PR status revoked (or not). You might be refused entry altogether if you haven't volunteer this information yourself.
PR is not automatically revoked based on the breakdown of relationship, it is also to discretion of CIC whether it will be revoked at all. The condition is relatively new and there is very little information and examples how CIC follows through on such cases but i think the best way to go with it is to be truthful about your PR status when and if you try to re-enter Canada.
