Hello,
I am working on sponsoring my wife. We are putting together her documents. She is from Slovakia and is concerned that she needs a superlegalization of her birth certificate. From what I understand a certified copy along with a notary stamp will suffice. Would anyone be able to confirm this?

Hi,

Yes you have to translate to english her birth certificate and also your marriage certificate ( if you got married also in her home country), and get a notary to stamp ( so called legalize the authenticity of the documents)... In most of the cases translators bureaus work together with notaries, so you should be fine. At least this is what me and my husband did...

Good luck to you!

Sorry to intrude on your post, but I have also a similar question.
I have to make a certified copy of my daughter's birth certificate. But it is already in English/French (also Romanian). The notary told me that the translator puts her stamp and then the notary can write the phrase "I certify that.." in both Romanian and English.
Is this OK/enough?

Thanks!!
