ive posted before regarding my husbands application I am in Canada applied October 1 2015 my husband is in Lebanon. everytime I want to go down ive been given false hope from my MP saying he will be here im in university and cant go whenever I want. I have not seen my husband since August 26 2015 I decided to just go down and not listen to anyone anymore. He wants to take me to Turkey as a university graduation gift (since ive been dying to go there). I have contacted immigration and the last thing they told me was they extended his medicals until October 25 2017 and are waiting for statutory verifications. my question is if we do go to Turkey for a week this summer will it affect the application in any way?

Hi Marwa!!
I don't see any reason this could affect your application!
If he'll get an interview, he will be able to bring additional proves.
I wish you nice vacations!!! 8)

Hey there,

First of all enjoy your vacation! Have a great time, especially when you didn't see him in such a long time... But still it takes so long that just the idea of not being able too see my husband that long... Hurts me... So I can only imagine how it's been for you and your husband...

But how long is his visa office supposed to take? Is it normal for it to be this long?

Good luck to you I wish for this to be over for you guys soon!! And enjoy your vacations and make as many pictures as possible!!!!

me and my husband did inland spousal sponsorship our journey started Dec 15 2015 and my husband did his landing interview at cic etobicoke on April 28 2017 took us 17 months but we are done just with outland and in land takes long but my husband from Europe and he is from Portugal which is visa exempt with middle east and Asia and some europen theu take long because they are not visa exempt

My husband is in lebanon when we applied it was october 1 2015 we chose the outland route because the inland was 26 months at the time. Now the processing time for lebanon is 13 months i know over 10 couples who have applied after me and their spouses are in canada and have been for months now. We were never asked to provide additional documentation nor was he asked to go to the embasy and do an interview we were not asked for anything at all i sent in all my phone bills over 50 pictures of us together plus wedding and engagement pictures i also screen shot some proof we are talking from my phone and printed them i even organized and labelled everything in the application thinking it would make the officers job easier. The officer called my husband march 17 2016 at approx 11am lebanon time asked his several questions over the phone since then i have emailed called went to lawyers immigration consultants my MP also another MP 2 days ago i have emailed justin trudeau and john mcculum and now ahmed hussein the immigration ministers and nothing the lawyer said to write a hard copy letter to immigration and send it and i did now in thinking of just going to the embassy when i get there its been a very long emotional journey

Hang in there. I pray it will be over soon. Go on your vacation. Take plenty of photos and have a great time.

Did you get SA yet?

What does is say in MyCIC? Is his background check in process still? This is probably what may be delaying it.

Its been background check for the past 14 months now not sure why its taking so long he never travelled before he was never married before and his police clearance was squeeky clean like im so frustrated i put off my graduation from university i didnt apply for it because he isnt here i kept getting false hope from my MP so i didnt go down to lebanon once since we applied and we really want to have kids but to have kids and mom in one country and dad in another isnt fair at all to the kids and we arent getting younger

hang in there they are nothe doing things in order and you think haa something to do with refugees coming from the US and line jumping

Well its not fair how whoever applied after december 7 2016 has only 12 months waiting period and syrians came so fast and people jumping the border get to stay and others still waiting to be ruinited with their spouses its not fair i understand that many people needed help and were living in unimaginable conditions and that i understand and dont mind but Trudeau promised family reunification and yet i dont see anything happening towards this promise but what can we do im just going to go down next month and stay with my husband there and hope for the best nothing else i can do now
