Spouce or common law sponsorship

Hi,
I'm trying to sponsor my husband and we just got all of the paper work sent back to us. On the notification they have checked the first section that states as follows:
A current, completed application to sponsor , sponsorship agreement and undertaking )IMM1344) completed by the sponsor , and co-signer if applicable , bearing all required signatures.
I had signed under the sponsor section since im the spouse who is sponsoring my husband.
my Husband signed under the sponsored personal applicant signature section
and we left the co-signer section blank
Would that have been the issue and thats why they had return the forms to us?
Do i need to enter NA - not applicable instead?

You did the right thing by not signing the co-signer section.

Are you sure you had the most up to date version of the form? What's the date on the form you submitted?

How can I know if the form is the most current one? I had downloaded the form from immigration Canada website under all of the instructions?
The date is Yyy MM DD 2015 10 30.

Bottom of each cic form has the date it was last modified in small print.

So, apparently, CIC isn't even aware that IMM 1344 has been updated?
