Sponsorship Undertaking Valid in other countries

My wife is about to sponsor me and in the off chance we ever split up or get divorced is the sponsorship undertaking valid in other countries. I am from the UK. If i return to the UK would the sponsorship undertaking still be in effect where my wife would legally have to provide for me in the uk
