I submitted my wife's family class sponsorship on the 28th of Feb 2012 to Mississauga and still awaiting to be approved as a sponsor. I was wondering if time scales of 55 days has changed and if anyone else who submitted their application if Feb'12 have received approval for sponsorship? Thanks! I am living in the UK at the moment, not sure if that makes a difference!

processing time is now 3-4 months for sponsorship approval....right now they are working on one day of applications in one month. we have been waiting for 3 months now, applied jan 26, no AOR yet, CIC call centre told me to wait another 3 weeks to hear anything!
best of luck

Not so sure that is accurate. 1 day of applications per month? No. I don't think it's quite that bad...yet.

Thats where you can check on what dates they are working on and it says Jan 17th, so there are a few days to go for them to get to February. Just wait and chill.

CIC only receives applications Monday to Friday, right? So we can scratch weekend dates off the timeline, yes?

I'm chilled...I would like to go asap, but at the end of the day, staying a bit longer allows me to save more money for the down payment on a house...either way I'm cool...

haha, I know Fencesitter. We have to go a while. I am just surprised that many have so much access to the information and still ask about it and that is just the beginning of the wait.

Guess so FS. So 5 days per week. Makes aprox. 17 weeks, so more than 4 months, which would be August but I guess it is not calculated like this and they do count just days through weekends, so it would be 12 weeks, so 3 month which would bring us to beginning to mid July. This is of course variable as the processing time is updated weekly, so either it goes up or down. Guess best is to track which date received they are working on.

I meant for calculating when applications were received, not for our timeline for sponsorship approval...

yes, no weekend deliveries. Would be first government office that works weekends. Haha
My sponsorship approval will possibly fall on our first wedding anniversary July 3rd. That would be a great present.

The push to get rid of the parents and grandparent applications in the backlog when the quota was doubled

If this is all true, then for those of us who applied in early April won't get approved until September or October, no?

FS

That's incredibly depressing.... I sure hope not :o

I know, but if we look at the website, and going by how long it's taking to process the Jan applicants, we must be ready for a lengthy approval process (stage 1).

How will they possibly get to us April applicants in 84 days if they are still working on Jan 17? If you do the math, it seems impossible.

I sure hope not! I want to get home ASAP...but I think it is important to prepare for the worst...that way, if they do process faster than expected, it won't be a huge let down.
