Hello. I recently began a sponsorship agreement as of the beginning of this month. The woman and I hadn't been together for over a year and a half, having married in 2009. She asked me to continue the process, because she was fearful of going back to Mexico without prospects she had left behind when she originally came on a temporary work visa. She used phrases like "my life is in your hands". Foolishly, I trusted in her promises that if I agreed to assist her, she wouldn't harm me or seek assistance, and stay afloat herself.

Her vehicle, her phone, all available because of me. Now, she has completely done a 360 in her already stubborn and unappreciative behaviour. I have dozens of witnesses who would testify that we weren't together for a long time, and at this point, I'm petrified she will seek assistance solely to validate her ideas that I didn't "help her enough".

Our communication problems were always the issue to begin with, and I'm very afraid she will attempt to **** me as much as possible as she changes her point of view to one that suits her decisions.

What are my options? I know I should have recalled the sponsorship...I thought many nights on it. Everyone told me to do so. But I've heard if you can prove the sponsorship agreement was fraudulent, you can null the contract?

I don't want to send her back, still. I would hate to have this person, no matter what she has done to me, to feel such animosity towards not only me, but the entire experience here in our country. I don't want to have to take her abuse either, though.

Any feedback is appreciated...thanks.

When did you submit the sponsorship application?

Ah, yeah. Before the October 2012 changes...

There are dozens of people who WANT to testify...I kept telling myself she would appreciate my sacrifice. But, I really don't believe that anymore.

Is there any case history on this? Would there be investigation, penalties? etc..

Thank you....

I see... Too bad.

You can certainly report her. It's hit and miss whether CIC will take action. Here's the hotline for reporting fraud if you decide to go ahead with it.

Good luck.
