I am a Canadian living in Sweden with my Argentinian husband and two Swedish kids. I want to sponsor them to move back to Canada but can I do so without having a job in Canada? Can I prove financial ability to sponsor in some other way such as having a lot of money in a Canadian account (which I have). I do have a Canadian education and about ten years of work experience so I would get a job there as soon as we could all enter. Or is it absolutely necessary to have a job in Canada up front? I was hoping we wouldn't have to separate while I go to Canada first to look for a job (might take while in this economy and our kids are really small still). Thanks for any info you can provide.

yes you can do that from outside canada and move back together after getting PR for your husband and kids. you dont need to have a job to apply just send them your bank statements showing amount and interest income. if you are applying from outside canada and staying outside during processing, you need to prove that you will return to canada after you family get PR.(arranged accommodation, letter from parents or friends stating that you can stay with them until you find house and job, and other plans about your return to canada). we are also in same situation, if you need any help regarding your application, you are most welcome.
best of luck :)
