Hello everyone.

I am a permanent resident ,and will be citizen in a year or so ,residing in Canada. My daughter is a pr already ,but she lives with my ex in Europe.Inevitably ,at some point ,she will not meet the residency requirement .I am wondering what my options are in case she decides later on to be here in Canada .Right now she is 14 and she will not meet the residency requirement in a year or so .I wonder if I can sponsor her again ,and up to what age .Thanks in advance.

Is your ex by chance a Canadian citizen? In this case, she would still meet the RO even while living outside Canada.

If not, then once she is in violation of RO and when her PR card expires, there are a few options:
1. Apply for a PR TD for her on H&C basis of her being removed from Canada as a minor. If approved, she can return to Canada and you can then immediately apply to renew her PR card.

2. If PR TD is denied, you can just accept cancelling of her PR status, and then sponsor her for PR again with a new family class application. You must sponsor her before her 22nd birthday, since after this she would no longer be a dependent and ineligible to be sponsored.

Up until age of majority (I think 18 but not sure), she would also need a letter of authorization/permission from your ex for her to move to Canada.
