So this form is in the sponsor's package, right?

First, it says to use either 5481 or 1283 as financial evaluation - he is employed at a university, and is not self-employed, and I am the only person he is sponsoring (no children) so we went for 5481, is that correct?

Now, just to confirm, on 5481 in question 7 the people in 'undertakings in effect or not yet in effect' are referring not to me, but to previous sponsroships if he had them? (he does not). So basically, we write in '1' in 5A, and '2' in 7, and then for 6 and the extension of 5 just leave them blank? Or put 0 everywhere, or N/A?

IMM 5481 is correct.

IMM 5481 Question 7 asks about the total number of people included in 4, 5, and 6.

There is only 1 person. so 1 for 5a, and 2 for 7. Rest is N/A

For 4, because this is the sponsor's form, '1' is already typed in for the sponsor himself (it says 'you'), then there is room for the sponsored spouse in 5a ('1'), that's me, so in 7 it is 2 in total, correct? I'm actually confused, because it says 'person included on IMM0008 under 'application details', but the sponsor does not fill in IMM0008, right? so basically in my IMM0008 I include only myself (and write in '1' for number of ppl in the whole application, according to the guide), and on his 5481 it's him and me, or the fact that he's included by default mean that he is not to be counted among the total? (it says in his giude that he is included 'by default').

IMM0008 is filled out by you, and you include yourself (and no other dependants). So 1 there.
IMM5481 he fills out. He has your IMM0008 answer of 1 for Box 5a (that's you). 4 is 1 (him). Box 7 is the total 1+1.

Hope that helps clear up the confusion ... I know the forms were daunting for us too..

Yeah, you can say that again! though I appreciate that, from what I gathered, the updated forms and guides actually took some of these difficulties into consideration. So anyway, in his 5481 in 7 it's 2 for total, yes?

It is >=1. So it has to be one (you), but if you had children, then it would be more than one.

The sponsor's form has to include the sponsor. That's part of the 'financial evaluation'. How many people does the sponsor's income support v. how many people can it support.... if that makes sense..

Oh, I see! Ok, that makes sense, then. And yes, there are no children involved, so it's just me, and we live together just the two of us
