I got sponsored and the papers were received in February 2022. Now I've been waiting for 16 months. I have completed all the steps medical, biometric since March 2022. I receive my CSQ in june 2022. Since august 2022 nothing has changed I am still waiting for the background check. I saw on their website that the processing times have changed from 14 months to 27 months. do you think this applies to all applications? or only the news?

I saw that too. I think it's good to remember that this is a historical turn around time - how long it took them in the past to process 80% of applications. So at 27 months, it means that they got long delays for a long time - hopefully they are in the process of catching up. Some things happened over the past 27 months - pandemic, strike, change from paper to electronic applications, etc. It seems absurd and unfair that for a process where actually IRCC processes and selects, that there should be such a huge gap in turn around time between Quebec and outside - seriously, apart form the CSQ extra step, why would it take that much longer?
