Hello all,

Just wanted some advice on my dire situation.
Long story short..

I was a student here and have been in Canada since 2004

My status expired Jan 2013.

I applied to transfer to a new program in a community college, but got the acceptance letter a little later than the 90 day period.
CIC sent me a refusal letter and asked me to leave Canada back to my home country (Pakistan)

During that time i got married to a Canadian citizen whom i had been dating for years.
She decided to sponsor me. We filed an INLAND APPLICATION with lots of detail included as proof.
We applied in OCTOBER 2014 and received Acknowledgement of RECEIPT almost immediately.

A year goes by after applying , as i was unable to work, that put a lot of pressure on her and to be honest she had a breakdown. She decided to call it quits and asked me to move out. Basically, she left me at a point of no return. I won't go into details of her breakdown. Basically, we separated and i just got served
Seperation/divorce papers a couple of days ago. She will withdraw her oath as my sponsor very soon. Its just a matter of days. There is no way she will reconsider or reconcile. My future is pretty bleak in Canada at the moment.

My question is,
1. what sort of options do i have, if any while still in Canada?

2. When i leave Canada, do i have to report to CSBA for my departure

3. I have not signed the divorce papers yet, how will that affect my application? Is there any way i can use that to my advantage? Maybe buy more time, anything?

4. When i leave the country, how will this application affect my new application if i decide to apply in the future?

Please, i need some help here. Need some direction !!!

1) Zero options. You've been out of status for far too long.
2) No - you don't.
3) No - this doesn't help you at all. Your spouse is free to cancel the application whenever she wants to - even if you are still married.
4) Your overstay may impact your ability to obtain temporary visas in the future (e.g. work permit, study permit, visitor visa). There won't be any impact if you apply to immigrate on your own.

so you're saying that if i apply in the future under a different category, considering all that has happened (failed marriage/sponsorship) it will not have any negative impact on my future application. Also, do you think credit history or credit card debt has any impact on PR applications?
Thanks

As long as you qualify independently under another immigration stream (i.e. express entry), then nothing that happened here should matter.

If you try to apply under family class again (so if you get re-married to a Canadian and are sponsored again), then CIC will look more closely at that app considering all that has gone on here.

Also, do you think credit history or credit card debt has any impact on PR applications?

No, credit history and debts are not looked at by CIC.
