Hi folks,
My boyfriend, a quebecois, is sponsoring me for PR. I have done all the research and know roughly what to do. However, I am confused by one thing. According to the quebec immigration website, we need to send "Sponsorship application" to IRCC before "undertaking application" to MIDI. Then at some point they say if the undertaking application is approved, the principal applicant can start to apply for PR to Canada government. Also the website gives a tip:
For a sponsored person already residing in Québec: if the sponsored person’s application for permanent residence has not already been submitted, you could send it at the same time as your sponsorship application to the Canadian government.
So my question is: is the "sponsorship application" (first stage, submitted by the sponsor) different from the PR application? If they are different, how can we apply for PR because there is no further explanation in the guidelines. Thank you very much for any hints.
