Hello everyone!

My wife and I started sponsoring her parents more that 2 years ago and we received CIC approval already. I am acting as a co-sponsor for their application. We filled all the forms that we got back from CIS processing centre and mailed all to her parents for sending to a Canadian embassy for the final visa application process.

Recently we decided to go for a divorce with my wife but I don't want to withdraw my co-sponsorship because I respect her parents greatly and I want them to come here to Canada. I am very worried, if that may affect their application outcome? Should we report about our divorce to CIC or not in this case?

All reliable information is highly appreciated.

What a decent thing for you to do for these people you admire so much. I hope PMM can give you some good advice.

Thank you! I hope to get a good advise as well. BTW, those people did a lot for me and my young family many years ago and, no matter what happens to me and my wife, I want always treat them as my parents.
