Sponsors approval time delay from Canada

Hello, I applied for spousal sponsorship who lives outside (Pakistan).
-mailed my package to Mississauga in May
-Mississauga immigration received it in June

From Canada first stage it was suppose to be 55 days and now its October 5 months no respond from here.

Did it happen with anyone else? I called the immigration they said we have your file but maybe too much work load or we dont know whats happening.

Can anyone please tell me if that happened with someone else also? PLEASE I REALLY NEED HELP I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT IT BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN 5 MONTHS ALREADY FROM CANADA AND NO RESPOND THERE IS 33 MONTHS from PAKISTAN STILL AFTER THIS.

is it usual from Canada or very rare? if it does what happens how long does it take maximum? PLEASE AND THANK YOU I WILL REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

if you are past the posted processing time for first stage sponsor approval for an outland application, then what you can do is contact the sponsor's member of parliament (MP) to enquire on your behalf. CIC must respond to their request. they do NOT have to respond to your request, so if you want to know what's going on with your file, you need to contact your MP to get help.
