Hello everyone I have a question:

What if a CAD citizen wanted to sponsor their common law spouse, however that spouse been here for over 4-5 years with no status (she basically came here as a worker and when that was done she applied for ETA but never got an answer so she just stayed).

so basically my question is can the spouse sponsor their spouse even if they are here with no status ??

Thank you so much !!

Thank you bajanqueen!

Do you know where I can find it in the CIC site or the regulation ??

Inland sponsorship. Don't apply for the work permit, she won't be eligible until AIP (these days AIP -> DM is less than a couple days). She will be processed under public policy.

See: Appendix A in the case processor manual IP08 (Google cic ip08): https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/ip/ip08-eng.pdf&ved=0ahUKEwjTwYPj-PHSAhUQ8YMKHUocD84QFggaMAA&usg=AFQjCNGM4cYs3gM4bp1rSa5Y-ddC3Lca1A&sig2=wOj67kUOuSuDDctvjSaWaw

thank you I read it!

But like it does not say which special application i need , (or is it the same normal one?)

I could find the part that said, the spouse cannot work, where does it say that?
