It's taken months but we are finally seeing the light in preparing our application. I just have a few specific questions. I'm citizen of Canada by birth, currently staying in Dubai with my husband (on a tourist visa). My husband is Syrian, no longer a resident of Syria, who has a residence visa for Dubai (has been working here for 5 plus years). I will stay in Dubai with him as long as it takes for our application to be processed, but we are really looking forward to establishing our life in Canada.

1. regarding IMM3911e - I assume because he is no longer a resident of Syria that he only has to meet the generic documentation requirements and complete Supplemental Information Form?

2. Section 7 of IMM3911e references up front medical - should he get a medical upfront? if it takes approx 2 years for the application to be processed, will the medical exam still be valid?

3. there seems to be a lot of differing requirements on the documentation submission format, between the various checklists and 3911e itself...which takes precedent?

4. in Section 8 of IMM3911e, it states that photographs of family members must be submitted. What is the definition of a family member? Are these only the applicant and any dependents? or are they the Applicant's brothers, sisters, parents?

5. will CIC accept the Supplemental Information Form retyped into a Word document (so that we can type the answers) or do we have to fill in the information manually and submit? (all of the forms in this PDF file are not fillable online)

Wishing everyone luck in their applications...Canada needs more people and I love being in a country that has people from all cultures, religions and parts of the world.

Thank you in advance,

C.

Okay...so a few answers to a few of my own questions...

family members are basically dependents, or dependents of dependents :)

one down...only a few more to go :)

Still would love to hear your replies :)
