Sponsoring spouse while on study visa

Can I sponsor my child and wife while I am in Canada for studies?

I have heard from many people that I can sponsor my spouse who will also get a temporary work permit as well to the extent of my course, but as per CIC official website - it has been clearly mentioned that students cannot sponsor their spouse, partner or child.

Please clarify this point.

Your spouse can apply for open work permit because you are on a study permit. If you are having trouble figuring things out you can see an immigration professional or even advisor at your school. There is no guarantee they will be granted a permit however
