Hi everybody,

My husband will be sponsoring me (mexican) to immigrate in Canada, we have been married for 3 years, I'm not sure whether to send it outland or inland, I'm in Canada right now and the processing times for Mexico are 1 first stage and 13 months second. Canada 6 and 8. So I'm guessing I could do any, does the processing times change regularly? what option would be the best for me to work in Canada?. Right now I have a visitor visa and someone told me I will get an Acknowledgement of Receipt if I apply inland and I can stay until I receive a decision but I don't know when would I be able to work.

Thanks in advance.

With the inland process, you will qualify for an open work permit once you have first stage approval. This takes approximately six months from the time you submit the application.

But if you apply inland amd you get denied visa you can not appeal ..you can only appeal if you do it outland.

Thanks for your quick reply, just a few ore questions:

Is there any paper work that I need to submit to get the work permit if I get accepted in the first stage?

If I can't appeal inland, can I re-try in the future?

Yes you can retry in the future but only outland..but make sure im right because this is what im told too..

If you apply inland, you need to stay in canada for the time of the application. If you leave the country and try to come back, you might be denied entry, you would then have to start all over again - outland this time.

Thank you all :)
