Hello guys. I am currently a PhD student and employed part time as a Teaching assistant (contracts, get T4 with 10K as yearly income). Also have a scholarship income that is not taxable and appears only in my full tax return. My savings are ~ 30K.

Do you guys think this financial status causes me any problem when sponsoring my wife?

thanks,

assuming you are a PR/citizen applying to sponsor your spouse through spousal sponsorship, no, it is not an issue. there is no minimum income requirement for spousal sponsorship. a sponsor is not required to have a job or an income. all IRCC cares about is whether it is likely you are to apply for welfare upon her approval. many people successfully sponsor their spouse without a job or income.

What kind of sponsorship, pr or work permit? What is your immigration status in Canada?

You should be fine, Outland is fastest.
