Would it be a good idea to sponsor one's spouse within 3 months of landing in Canada since there is no job/financial requirement for spouse sponsorship!!

If you are already married at the time of landing and do not declare your wife, you are unable to sponsor her EVER.

All PR applications must declare their legal dependents, (wife, minor children etc) even if those dependents are not accompanying the main applicant.

There must be a way which you will be able to bring her to Canada, go see a lawyer.
There are different immigration categories/classes where she can immigrate to Canada.

There are a lot of assumptions here because of the minimal amount of information in the OP.

Thank you guys for your contributions. The principal applicant is not married yet.He intends to marry 1st quarter of next year and his PR is almost ready. He does not want his case to be taken back to the back of the queue that is why he would rather get his PR 1st as it is almost ready. I personally think its a good idea even though i would suggest he sees a lawyer at some point after landing about spouse sponsorship.

Has he declared his relationship to his fiancee and had her examined? IF he hasn't, he runs the risk of not being able to sponsor her, EVER. He should know that right off.

A fiance does not need to be examined if they are not common law before the principal applicant lands. Only a spouse or common-law partner needs to be examined.

To the OP, your friend should NOT get married before he lands in Canada if he doesn't want to wait for his soon-to-be wife to be added to the application and examined. He needs to land first, then get married, then sponsor. It sounds like he is planning to get married before he lands and he will be heading into a world of trouble if that is his plan.

rjessome, we both believe in he same line. I don't think a lot people realize that it is only when you are married that you need to declare it.
Everyones input is well appreciated. This forum is one big family.
