Sponsoring Parents in 2015

Hello,

I want to apply for my father a supervisa, I have couple of questions if you would like to help me please :

1- How long the process could take ? Can I write in application that he will visit me in June for example and buy the flight ticket on that basis ?
2- Should I buy the flight tickets before or after applying ?
3- What is low wage cut off ? Is it required for last year only or many years ?
4- What is the cheapest place to buy medical insurance and have good coverage ?
5-Will they open Parents sponsorship immigration again or not ?

If nothing changes, it's expected that PGP will re-open in Jan, 2016 with 5,000 cap again (same as 2014 and 2015).

WC to the forum. I've already added you in our 2015 PGP Timeline - Google SS? But I'm not too sure how many apps did you actually send for yourself? You said that you sent 2 and your friend sent 1. Or, you were referring to 2 applications in total (1 for you and 1 for your friend).

You can also use the last tab called 'New Entry' on the spreadsheet in order to enter/update info to the database.

Nothing has happened to 2014 applicants yet. CIC is processing PGP applications for late 2010 / early 2011 for now. I suspect we might hear something from CIC by late 2016 / early 2017. It will be a very lengthy process unfortunately.

See the post a few above yours where this question has been answered. CIC is still working on pre-2014 applications. You won't hear anything until 2016/2017.

Any guesses as to why I haven't received any AOR yet? There are people whose application received on 5th Jan have got AOR and mine was received on 2nd Jan at 3:30pm. So doesn't make any sense.... :-[

Just a quick update:

Even though I was among the first applicants who got their CC charged and eCAS activated, I did not get the email. So last week, I finally decided to call CIC and ask them why I have not received the email AOR. The rep asked me some security questions and put me on hold. It was a pretty long hold, I wanted to hang up a few times but decided to wait on the line; I think I easily waited 10-15 minutes on hold. After that, the rep came back and apologized for the long wait, and told me that it is weird that they haven't sent me the email AOR yet and he just contacted them and I should receive an email from them soon.

Finally, I received my email AOR this morning, the topic of the email is "RE: IMM_Correspondence_Not_Received". I think this shows that the rep actually contacted them and raised this concern and that is the reply to that concern that was sent to me as well. The email says my application was accepted within the 5000 cap and it has my application number as well.

So my advice to anyone who has 1- their CC charged, 2- haven't received the email AOR, is to call CIC and let them know so they can act on their file.

Statistically, you're not any exception.

FYI:

38.7% of 2-Jan-2015 applications (whose payment got accepted) have received AOR
while
66.7% of 5-Jan-2015 applications (whose payment got accepted) have received AOR

(data may be skewed due to higher volume of applications on 2-Jan-2015 and/or user reports)

But you can certainly contact CIC.
