Hi,

What would be the financial requirements for family sponsorship in my situation, if anyone has an idea, please?

I am Canadian, living outside Canada for quite a long time (for work). My wife is not Canadian, our 3 kids are. As I understand, there is no specific financial requirement for this situation - but what would be expected?

We would like to move to Canada for multiple reasons. The financial situation is as follows:

- I don't have much in savings and that is my concern. Recently investment opportunities came up and I invested - outside Canada. Those investments do not yet provide income.
- I also have real estate assets, again outside Canada.
- We are both highly educated and should be able to find jobs in Canada, probably at least one of us soon upon arrival.

Thank you

As you already know there isnt any financial requirements for sponsoring a spouse but that being said you have to prove CIC that A) you plan to move back to Canada B) how you plan to support which can be shown in the job prospects in your field, the courses you plan to take or your families planning to support you.

You need to show that you can support yourselves in Canada without welfare. This can be through any combination of savings, investments, family support, income, income potential etc.
