Hey,

I don't think anybody will be able to tell you what immigration will look like next year. Immigration minister has pledged to cut down time for families, but so far, I don't think anybody see much of a difference, so nobody knows.

Pakistan has a really long processing time, about 26 months. So the earlier you apply, the better... Your wife can ask to be processed in the US if she has a status in the US for at least one year ( she has to have a visa allowing her to stay at least one year), BUT even if you ( and her ) ask for the file to be processed through the US office ( because it is quicker), CIC can still decide to send your file to Pakistan, and they feel that your wife has more ties to Pakistan than to the US. So - it's a bit of a gamble.

Good luck,
Sweden
